Earlier this week, Disney released the official title for the upcoming eighth film in the Star Wars Saga, "The Last Jedi". Theories quickly spread as Star Wars fans throughout the galaxy were seeking meaning from the small glimpse ahead.
Alas, a new theory was brought to my attention from our boss here at the office Chad Abbott, has and I couldn't love it any more. In fact, it's leaving Star Wars fans across the galaxy with the biggest freaking smile on their face as they hope it's proven valid when the film is released later this year.
It wasn't long after the title was released that Abbott started to notice that the titles of Episode VII (The Force Awakens) and Episode VIII (The Last Jedi) can be squished together to make a full sentence, or at least the first two-thirds of a sentence to be completed later.
That's right, "The Force Awakens The Last Jedi"...
Whaaaaaat?!?
This theory might be my favorite thing in the world right now.
Remember, at the end of The Force Awakens, Rey lands on Ahch-To, Luke's previously undisclosed hiding spot. Remember also that multiple times throughout this Skywalker saga, Luke has been referred to as "the last jedi" (The Force Awakens opening scroll and this juicy Yoda quote from Return of the Jedi, "the last of the jedi will you be."). So that part is pretty settled right?
It's not a stretch to say that he was awaked by the resurgence of the force at the end of Episode VII with Rey.
LET'S GO! Time for a sick Skywalker lightsaber fight!
Now it should be noted that it's been discussed many a time that this trilogy of VII, VIII & IX are said to be mirrors of the original trilogy in some (but not all) ways. This would be stepping out from that logic since "A New Hope Empire Strikes Back Return Of The Jedi" makes absolutely no sense.
And of course, leave it to the Internet to run with it and finish the last third of sentence with some fun...
