LB Eric Kendrick’s signs 5-year, $50 million contract extension w/Vikings

 

Eagan, Minn. (April 16, 2018) – The Minnesota Vikings announced LB Eric Kendricks has signed a contract extension with the club.

In his career with the Vikings, Kendricks has totaled 367 (253 solo) tackles, 30 tackles for loss, 26 quarterback hurries, 21 pass break-ups, and two interceptions. Kendricks returned both interceptions for touchdowns and has also forced and recovered one fumble. In his first three seasons since entering the NFL, Kendricks has led the team in total tackles, the first Viking to do so since Rip Hawkins (1961-1964). In 2017, the Fresno, California native tallied a career-high 136 (87 solo) total tackles and tied a career-high of 13 tackles vs. Cleveland (10/29/17). Kendricks now has five career games with 13 tackles.

The former UCLA standout has started 41 out of 45 career games including three starts in the playoffs. Kendricks was selected in the 2nd round (45th overall) of the 2015 NFL Draft and went on to receive All-Rookie honors that season. He was Defensive Rookie of the Month in October 2015 and NFC Defensive Player of the Week at Tennessee (9/11/16).
