Well it took a little longer than most of us had hoped, but it was just last week when the Minnesota Vikings inked rookie first rounder Mike Hughes officially to his rookie deal.
As the team tweeted out, "Making mom proud!" with a picture of Hughes signing his deal with his mom by his side, Mike followed up on a long-time promise shortly thereafter by using the first purchase on his first NFL contract to buy his mom a house presumably in their home state of North Carolina.
So while mom chills out at her new fancy house, Mike prepares to report to his first NFL Training Camp on Tuesday in Minnesota.
