WATCH: Bruins Brad Marchand Ejected For This Nasty Spearing Penalty

Boston Bruins winger Brad Marchand has a reputation for being a rather dirty player. From some various high sticks to some ugly tripping incidents, Marchand has been known to take liberties and, at times, go too far. Tuesday night, with his Bruins taking on the Tampa Bay Lightning, he went too far.

Battling with Lightning defenseman Jake Dotchin in front of the net, Marchand speared Dotchin between the legs sending the Tampa Bay defenseman to the ice writhing in pain.

Marchand was given a game misconduct and was ejected from the game but surely that's not the last we've heard of this. The NHL still must weigh in and determine if a suspension is necessary (which it obviously is) and how many games Marchand should be suspended.

Clearly just an unnecessary and dirty play by Marchand and one that might end up costing Boston if Marchand should miss any time in the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
