The Lynx (20-4, 1st in West) are now riding a seven game win streak, including four straight  the Target Center. The Silver Stars (17-7) have now lost two out of their last three. The Lynx are 2-1 against the Silver Stars this season.

Leaders of the game:

Rebounds: Rebekkah Brunson – 20

Assists: Lindsay Whalen – 8

Domination in OT

Going into OT, the game was tied 79-79. With 2:23 remaining in OT, the Lynx were up 89-79. Whalen nailed two huge threes and Brunson continued to battle on the boards and dominate inside. The 20 rebounds were a career-high for Brunson and set a Lynx record for most rebounds in a game.

The Silver Stars didn’t show up at all in the extra period.

Somewhere at Target Center, Jesse Ventura was dancing.

Slow start for the battle of the point guards.

With 6:24 left in the first half, point guards Whalen and Becky Hammon were a combined 1-for-7 from the field. At half, Whalen had one assist while Hammon had none. Not exactly what fans were expecting with the two stars going head-to-head.

The rest of the game was a little better for Whalen, but not so much for Hammon.

Whalen finished 15 points and added eight assists, while Hammon scored just 13 off 4-for-16 from the field and 1-for-7 from the 3-point line.

McWilliams-Franklin breaks the WNBA’s offensive rebound record

Mama Taj, as some call her, needed three offensive rebounds to become the WNBA’s all-time leader. She didn’t waste any time, as she collected her 1,050th career offensive board in the first half. After the rebound, she received a standing ovation from the crowd. Very well deserved for a very classy player.

She also received a standing ovation after the game that brought her to tears. Emotional moment for the Lynx organization.

McWilliams-Franklin finished with 19 points and seven rebounds in the win.

I was also informed that she is a huge pro wrestling fan. So yeah, she might have just become my favorite WNBA player. But…

Candice Wiggins gives her a run for her money

If you listen to the nine-to-noon show with PA and Joe Nelson, you’ve heard Wiggins quite a bit. She nails every interview with PA and is one of the few athletes who can frequently impress you with her personality and sense of awesomeness.

On the big screen, Wiggins was asked to name as many mammals as she could. She got nine total in 20 seconds. Four of them included bear, Koala bear, fox and a hound. You should be giggling a little.

Hopefully we can get her on the Lynx podcast soon. Yes, I have no problem stealing her from PA. Hopefully he doesn’t read this.

Wiggins finished with five points off the bench.

The reason the Lynx were in it in the first half?

Brunson carried the Lynx in the first half with 10 points and seven rebounds off 4-for-7 shooting. Augustus added eight points, but was just 4-for-12 from the field.

Maya Moore had a brutal night shooting, but nailed a big shot when it counted

Moore was 4-for-16 from the field heading into the last minute as the Lynx were down 79-77. That didn’t stop her from shooting, though, as the former UCONN star nailed a shot from the corner to tie the game. Big shot from a big star. Moore finished with 14 points and added nine rebounds.
