<sub>Whether it's "we're comin', we're comin'" or "objects in your mirror may be closer than they appear", nobody pumps up Minnesota sports fans quite like the Common Man Progrum (weekdays, noon-3 p.m.).

For the past 13, 14 years, nobody has supported and rooted on the hometown teams like "The Common Man" Dan Cole.

Common is joined weekdays by interim producer Brandon "Tenna-B" Mileski (also hosts Beyond the Pond, Saturdays 10-noon), and given the constant full phone lines, doesn't have too much time for guests with the exception being Don Drysdale.

Given that Common doesn't have a switch and can't turn off the charm and charisma, you can always expect the Common Man progrum to be the finest 3 hours in radio.</sub>

The Progrum is now keeping track of the most Preposterous statements uttered in 2012...here's the current tally:

1) Mark Rosen: to Common, "I would wager that you had more days off last year than I did"

2) Jim Petersen: after a Wayne Ellington dunk, "If you squint you might be able to see Michael Jordan"

3) Mike Max: "Most people say that we are the state of hockey, but when it is going good, basketball is the most popular sport in the state of Minnesota"

4) Newt Gingrich: "By the end of my second term, we will have a permanent base on the moon, and it will be American"

5) Sid Hartman: "TwinsFest will include stars Joe Mauer and Justin Morneau; major offseason acquisitions such as Josh Willingham, Ryan Doumit, Jamey Carroll, Joel Zumaya and Jason Marquis"

6) Meatsauce: On Twitter Meatsauce stated that the Wolves win over the Clippers was the biggest win in Wolves' history. He also said the same thing on his Saturday show and took it a step further saying it could be one of the biggest wins in MN sports history. He went on to say that its the kind of win that builds momentum and changes everything. (NOTE: Wolves lost to Utah the next night)

7) Jim Petersen: "Lebron James is not getting paid what he's worth on the basketball court"

8) Dave Sinykin: "Packers fans don't look in the past"

9) Kevin Gorg: during Gophers/UND broadcast, "you know, sometimes it can be good for your team to go on the penalty kill"

10) Bob Sansevere: on Everson Griffen,  "It's doubtful they would give it a try, but Griffen is fast and agile enough to play safety."

11) Trent Tucker: "The Timberwolves play better on the road because they don't have to deal with the distractions that they have at home like ticket requests, driving in traffic and parking"

12) Dave Sinykin: trying to spin the reasons the Wolves might be able to attract a talented veteran free-agent to the team said "...and the climate has changed, It isn't as cold here all year round"

13) Peter King: "If Eli Manning wins the Super Bowl, he should be considered the greatest Playoff Quarterback of all time"

14) Dan Dierdorf: as CBS introduced all the national punt-pass-kick winners for 2011, "I've always admired these kids. It takes a lot of courage to be involved in this competition"

20) Joe Mauer: talking about losing Cuddyer, Nathan and Kubel, he said "We've lost great players before, like last year we lost Nick Punto"

27) Jason Belmonte (Professional 2-handed Bowler): "Another really big misconception is that we're an easy sport.   We're the toughest in the world...by far!!  I've played.  I've played them all.  I've done every other sport.  I know if I hit a good shot in any other game that I play, I know it's going to be exactly where I want it to go.  But not in bowling."

28) Mark Rosen: said he wouldn't trade Ricky Rubio for Derrick Rose

29) Superstar Mike Morris: said he didnt think the Niners had enough offense against a "really stingy Saints defense". He then said "The Saints defense has kept them in a lot of games" and that  "They are equally as tough as the Saints offense"

30) Jim Petersen: "Pekovic would've benefitted from having McHale around". Then after a baseline dunk, "Is that Pekovic or Patrick Ewing out there?"

31) Nadine Babu (gopherhole.com): a day after Gophers basketball lost to Ohio St. tweeted, "Going over stats, you know what really stinks? Had it not been for that 7 minute, 20-0 run, we played the #6 team in the nation well. #Gophers"

32) Jim Petersen: in reference to Kevin Love's hustle on a rebound, "take that play and send it to the Hall of Fame"

33) Bob Simon of 60 Minutes: on how tough Chess is, "but Chessmasters will tell you, it can be more brutal than boxing"

34) Hennepin County District Attorney Mike Freeman:  "Does it bother me to be the Michael Jordan of prosecutors? Or the Sidney Crosby? Or the Ricky Rubio? Absolutely not."

49) PA: on Fred Hoiberg's #8 seeded Iowa St. team,  "I told Fred yesterday and I mean it, if he can win his first 2 games, he can win the entire NCAA tournament, because if you can beat the defending champs UCONN and then come back and beat Kentucky in Louisville. Are you kidding me? If he can do that he can win the whole thing."

50) PA: asked new Vikings Tight End John Carlson, "So what about Carlson and Rudolph being the NFC North's version of Hernandez and Gronkowski"

51) Fred Hoiberg:  "We've been underdogs all year. Nobody gave us a chance yesterday against Connecticut and we still find a way to win." NOTE: Iowa St. was #8 seed in NCAA tourney, UCONN was #9 seed.
