Some hardcore bleep for the fledgling funksters who frequent the show page. Hope you enjoy the slow jam.
The San Diego Chargers are in town tomorrow night, and their offensive line has gone pear-shaped. Their preferred LT is hurt and out and some seventh-round rookie most likely will start opposite JARED ALLEN. Their C NICK HARDWICK, one of the game's better centers, has a concussion and most likely is not playing. The A-topic for me early tomorrow night via the simulcast with BERCICH and LEBER is expecting our DL to change the game and forced SD to go three and out two consecutive times.
KEVIN WILLIAMS still is supposed to be one of the game's better pass-rushing DT's and he wasn't particularly good against Buffalo. That needs to change tomorrow night, his final performance before Jacksonville. Kevin supposedly gets doubled a fair amount but that will stop if he's not as good as he is supposed to be. I'd like to see him pressure LDE BRIAN ROBISON for second on the team in sacks.
Robison amassed eight last year, which is an acceptable total for a complimentary DE. He might need to bump that total to 10 this year, and that feat would be made easier if Kevin gets off to a better start than he did last year.
EVERSON GRIFFEN, who had four sacks last year, is back at backup DE and he's so athletic he, too, should be counted on to assist LESLIE'S DL rotation that is designed to keep players fresh.
Our secondary will be so much better than it was last year we should expect better productivity, and it starts and stops with the defensive line. Given we have legit questions at two of the three LB spots the DL needs to carry the proverbial water, and the secondary needs to jump up with better tackling and more interceptions. With ANTOINE WINFIELD back in the mix and HARRISION SMITH settling the safety spots we are supposed to be much better defensively than the unit that allowed 28 PPG last year.
