Went to the Wolves season-opening win tonite wth the kids, and man do the Sacramento Kings stink. D COUSINS is good and is a double-double machine but as SLOOGIE pointed out to me "he is the biggest baby in the NBA."

BRANDON ROY looked rusty, CHASE BUDINGER couldn't hit anything most of the game and DERRICK WILLIAMS still looks more lost than found. Still, we were able to bust up this ratty team and secure win numero uno sans our best two players.

The Vikings have all of their best players set to go at Seattle, and they better bring the big-boy shoulder pads because this team is as good at home as any the last 11 years. Seattle has won 65 percent of its games here since 2002, second best behind Green Bay (69 percent).

The take-give always is big but is freaking huge in this contest. This is a field-position game that features two QB's having very similar seasons and the NFL's top two rushing leaders. Bad time for CHRIS KLUWE to channel his inner shank like he did in the Tampa game, and the feeling here is 5 will bounce back with aplomb.

Game-call depth chart done, ready for the 3 1/2-hour flight during which WOBBY and I will watch the Breeders' Cup and sweat the bets we made today. We also gamble on NFL Hangman, and that always helps the time pass. Here are some interesting nuggs':

-- Seattle K STEVEN HAUSCHKA was with the Vikings during the 2008 training camp. He had a chance to dagger us at MOA in 2009 with Baltimore and missed left. Cool. He is 1-for-4 from 50 plus this season.

-- The Seahawks average 17 1/2 PPG, 27th in the NFL.

-- Seattle averages 171 PYPG, 31st in the NFL.

-- Rookie third rounder RUSSELL WILSON can be a stud but also makes some stupid, rookie throws. He has six TD's at home and zero picks. On the road he is 4-and-8. He was drafted in the fourth round of the 2010 MLB Draft as a SS by Colorado. Last season at Wisc. he threw 33 TD's against just four picks. Kid is a born leader.

-- RB MARSHAWN LYNCH is second to ADRIAN in rushing yards with 757. He had a 77-yard TD at Detroit and was untouched. Eliminate that run and his game was 11 carries for just 28 yards. He has 16 100-yard games and ran for 12 TD's last season.

-- Seattle's kick coverage is best in show; the opposition starts at the 19 yard line on average. Hauschka has just 18 touchbacks. Go ahead, kick it to PERCY, I dare you.

-- FB MICHAEL ROBINSON was a stud QB at Penn State, a stud scat back for the Niners and a Pro Bowl FB for the Seahawks. He's also elite on special teams. Sweet player.

-- Former Vikes' LB HEATH FARWELL leads Seattle in ST tackles with eight.

-- SIDNEY RICE had 22 receiveing TD's for Minnesota from 2007-'10. He has three this season for Seattle.

-- JARED ALLEN has four safeties, tied for most in NFL history.

-- The Vikings have allowed 468 rushing yards the last three games, which is totally unacceptable. TB RB DOUG MARTIN amassed 214 total yards versus us and two TD's.

-- DL EVERSON GRIFFEN is slumping; he has just three tackles and zero sacks and TFL's the last four games.

-- CHAD GREENWAY and ERIN HENDERSON have combined for 12 TFL's this year. JASPER BRINKLEY has none.

-- Greenway had 15 tackles in the TB game.

-- Minnesota has allowed five rushing TD's the last three games; we allowed one the first five.

-- Take-give importance: NE and the NYG are plus 13, Chicago is plus 12 and undefeated Atlanta is plus 10. They are among the best teams in the game. We are minus four. Diseased.

-- CHRISTIAN PONDER completes just 59 percent of his passes on third down with four TD's and five picks.

-- Ponder has been sacked 10 times the last three games.

-- Percy has 60 receptions, tied for first in the NFL with WES WELKER.

-- Adrian has 276 yards and two TD's rushing his last two games.

-- TOBY GERHART has three runs for eight yards the last three games.

-- Seattle KR LEON WASHINGTON has seven KR TD's, one from tying JOSH CRIBBS for most in NFL lore. Percy has five.

-- BLAIR WALSH has 31 touchbacks, tied for first in the NFL. Kid also is 17 of 18 on FG's.

-- DEVIN AROMASHODU was in uniform but was a DNP versus TB.

-- Kluwe has a net of just 39 YPP his last 13 boots.

-- KYLE RUDOLPH has just two catches for 17 yards the last two games.

-- Jared Allen has four career TD's and both passes thrown to him have resulted in scores.

-- Ponder's seven picks have come the last four games.

-- Rookie MLB BOBBY WAGNER (Utah State) had 12 tackles at Detroit.

-- Second-year OLB KJ WRIGHT leads Seattle in tackles.

-- Seattle DE CHRIS CLEMONS has seven sacks this year and 29 the last 2 1/2 seasons.

-- Burly CB BRANDON BROWNER played four years with the Calgary Stampeders. He had six picks last year.

-- Fellow starting CB RICHARD SHERMAN played 25 games at Stanford as a WR. He's in his second year.

-- Both their safeties -- EARL THOMAS and KAM CHANCELLOR were on the NFC Pro Bowl squad last year, and Thomas was named a starter.
