I hope fans attending our game Sunday against Detroit see something diffrent from the offense that startles them. To wit, if PERCY can't go I'll be fired up to see JARIUS WRIGHT debut. Hoping the rookie is in shape and up to speed because this is a chance to assist an anemic passing game and stay in uniform the rest of the year.

Something has to change because the kitchen never has been hotter. Most fans deem the upset of the Niners as a total fluke and some feel we'll lose the rest of our games. When THE QB throws for double-digit totals two of the last three games it's easy to become frustrated, even with the RB putting up immortality-type numbers.

Could JOE WEBB re-emerge as some type of weapon? They won't use him at QB unless Christian gets booed off the field, but could we bring back the "Blazer?" Will the Vikings shake it up and reintroduce our diseased version of the "Wildcat?" It never worked last year, but if Percy is out I wouldn't be surprised if THE OC gets Joe in the mix to add some speed to the equation.

And how about those quick-hitting slants to JEROME SIMPSON we saw during the preseason? He'd catch it five yards from the line, leap over a defending Rube and scamper another 15. Almost everything to Jerome is outside the numbers, but to get Christian in a rhythm it's my belief we need our best playmakers to nab passes short and make something happen.

Too, I loved passes to TOBY out of the backfield this preseason, and they worked. We ran a play against Buffalo during which RUDOLPH cleared out the middle of the field by going deep and Toby was isolated on a RB and did some damage.

I am not a fan of Detroit's LB's and feel middle-field plays to the running backs would work and would gain yards for size.

I don't know, just stabbing here in search of routes to keeping the fans off Christian's butt and for the offense to become more balanced. I like Bill Musgrave and think he can be good at what he does and him succeeding means we are moving the ball and the defense gets some proper rest. We failed to score an offensive TD against Detroit the first time and won the game. I'd like to see us pass for three Sunday and head into the BYE 6-and-4.
