We cannot permit the Green Bay Packers to run well against us Sunday at MOA Field. Said squad went for a hundred and high change on the ground a month ago at Lambeau, and because of it stopping the pass on third down became problematic. There was a point in that game AARON RODGERS completed like 12 consecutive passes, maybe because we had to pay attention to the running game more than we liked.

This will be a "nickle" and "dime" game which means BRINKLEY and/or ERIN HENDERSON might not play as much as usual and also means JOSH ROBINSON and AJ JEFFERSON may play quite a bit. Rodgers went at Jefferson repeatedly at Lambeau, but given this is CHRIS COOK'S second game back from injury he should be better off than at Houston. Still, Rodgers is very good at exposing weak links, that is if he has enough time to machinate.

I cannot see MCCARTHY putting Rodgers on a significant amount of seven-step drops because we have an advantage when pairing our defensive line and their offensive line. They'll have to have Rodgers roll out a fair amount unless they double JARED ALLEN most plays. If that's the case they'll take a guy out of the passing game and that will minimize the damage he can do to our secondary.

Plus, EVERSON GRIFFEN is rushing very well right now and winning the majority of his one-on-one battles. If BRIAN ROBISON plays we use Griffen and KEVIN WILLIAMS inside and batter the interior of a line that just replaced its center and moved the RT to LG. GB's OL has had its problems this year and Rodgers protects it with his legs and cunning and guile. He's a very special player, one who makes others better.

I hope they put him on deep drops and look for the deep game that has made them so explosive and good. I feel our DL will get home at least five times and he'll have to adjust. GB screens very well and STEVEN JACKSON and ARIAN FOSTER zapped us a tad in that screen game the last two. Need to be ready for that, too, because GB can be so freaking sneaky with its offense it can beat you myriad ways.

When we blew a very winnable game at Lambeau, Green Bay dominated the time of possession, and the keep-away game in the second half wrecked the day. We are better now than we were then and so are they. We are built to control the rock and dominated that stat at Houston, the number-one T.O.P. defense in the NFL. We could not be playing any better into the bliss-or-miss game Sunday, and we'll all know where we stand by 7 p.m. It's either "Ain't No Stoppin Us Now" by MCFADDEN and WHITEHEAD for the 'Montage of BRIAN MCKNIGHT'S "One Last Cry." Happy New Years or Crappy New Year. Let's go!
