This one is "Keep Your Head to the Sky" by EARTH, WIND AND FIRE. I like the non-live version more but this one is pretty good. Terrific harmony, emotional lead vocalist and brassy. Cool words, too. Enjoy.
Tomorrow I am writing a read-between-the-lines piece on Vikings' GM RICK SPIELMAN'S in-studio visit today. Need to listen back, think things out and gain a feel for what he meant during a three-segment bit where he didn't share much. Rick gives subtle hints, though, and I will find them when I podcast the hour.
Rubes become perturbed when the GM shares little to nothing, and I understand the angst. But what good does it do him to go HOWARD COSELL on some issues. You can push as hard as you like but he is running a company and has to be concerned about many things.
To wit, if things have become so pear-shaped with PERCY why should Rick share? If there's something they feel they cannot control and he shares what it is that kills some or all of the trade value. Too, if he locks in on "Percy will play here next year" he's locked into that because people will find the sound and remind him what he said. I will write extensively on Percy Harvin this weekend.
One snippet, it does seem to me re-signing PHIL LOADHOLT is the top offseason priority. And I hope I am right and they do just that because he was very good last year, and his pass protection improved dramatically. Plus, Phil likes it here and isn't an interloper begging to leave. Keep that bookending tackle situation strong with KALIL, who will make the Pro Bowl every year of his career.
More to be shared on the Vikings tomorrow via this spot.
