We celebrate the 1983 Wayzata Club Hockey Team and one of its stars, Jonny "The Mouse" Mikkelson, who once told me "Our team was so good the varsity wouldn't play us." When asked why he didn't play varsity Mouse said, "Too little." Cutest ever. So, we salute the greatest Club Hockey Team ever, a squad so vaunted even Jim Craig's Miracle team wanted nothing to do with it. Trottier, Bossy, Gretzky, Messier ... dead! Long live the 1983 Wayzata Club Hockey team!

f the Wild were Judge Charles H. Older, the judge that sent Charles Manson to the clink: “2 weeks in the workhouse and 1 month probation!”
And Winnersville, U.S.A. thought it's most embarrassing moment would be chicken and beer in the clubhouse.
Boston sports has personified Winnersville, U.S.A. for so long us Rubes loving local sports here in the Cornfields might have become envious. But of late things on and off the field have gone pear-shaped to a certain degree. Unbelievable fodder of late for sports-talk rubes and interesting angles can be had on each and every recent tale of woe. "Beantown" has become "Beanfrown."
The Bruins lost the Stanley Cup on home ice, which means thousands of Rubes left unhappily. Some probably called 'FANline and bitched it out. No disgrace here, though, because just making the Final is what is key, and I would take that every cliched day of the proverbial week.
Still, Winnersville usually closes on those deals, and didn't.
Beanfrown's beloved C's just lost its elite coach in a trade of all things, its talented PG is off an awful knee injury and Basketball Immortality BIG TICKET and THE TRUTH may be out. Holy cow, that's more than a segment killer in most markets, but not the way things are going in Beanfrown. Doc and the talk are second page due to all the AARON HERNANDEZ stuff.
Now they say the former Pat may have been part of a double murder in 2012. The hits just keep on coming for this alleged loser. This does not seem to be going the right way for the game-changing TE who once led BELICHICK'S team in rushing in a playoff win.
Of course Hernendez gets his cliched "day in court" and I am not rushing to justice, just sharing the news and gut vibes.
The "Patriots Way" was called into question today, which has to frustrate Beanfrown. This bunch, baseball's Cardinals and the NBA's Spurs have been sports' most well run organizations for quite some time. This Hernandez ordeal permits peoeple to take shots at the Red, White and Blue of Football Immortality, and some of the speculation may be accurate.
There are many if not all teams in the NFL that have player development departments. Ours here is run by a well respected guy I have referenced named LES PICO, who has done wonders for Vikings behind the scenes.
I am sure the Pats have as terrific PD Dept., but there are times teams know more about things that transpire and never make it to the public or media. But if the guy's really good they privately work with him to get through things and hopefully all win together.
Longstorylonger, were there no allegations or problems or anything with Hernandez until all this popped? Must not have been because I look at Belichick as a guy who gets out of the game before the hand gets bad. Can't see Belichick knowing he employs a significant risk and giving him like $40 million in a new deal.
Whatever is happening with Aaron Hernandez I have to believe is catching Belichick off guard because that's how much respect I have in the way he runs a team. I know he was part of "SpyGate" and that was cheating, so maybe I just should be called a Beli-bobo (could be copyright BUMP). Maybe they looked the other way with some things Hernandez-related because he's a game-changer, and now the "Patriots Way" has been burned. They haven't won a SB in Beanfrown, well, since SpyGate.
No matter the case I feel bad for all involved who end up on the bad end of this.
From a Beanfrown standpoint and for talk radio the sad thing is the BoSox are mashing in a tough division, and that probably gets sports-essentials-like play.
... WOLVES DRAFT: I am going with the KCP bit from Georgia. Fits, FLIP likes his defense and I believe there's more to come. I read Chicago's LUOL DENG may be available, and if that's the case I'd like to chase him.
