We celebrate the 1983 Wayzata Club Hockey Team and one of its stars, Jonny "The Mouse" Mikkelson, who once told me "Our team was so good the varsity wouldn't play us." When asked why he didn't play varsity Mouse said, "Too little." Cutest ever. So, we salute the greatest Club Hockey Team ever, a squad so vaunted even Jim Craig's Miracle team wanted nothing to do with it. Trottier, Bossy, Gretzky, Messier ... dead! Long live the 1983 Wayzata Club Hockey team!

f the Wild were Judge Charles H. Older, the judge that sent Charles Manson to the clink: “2 weeks in the workhouse and 1 month probation!”
Today on the #92Noon 'Project PAUL CHARCHIAN predicted the Vikings WILL NOT be making the playoffs next season. I wasn't offended but respect the hell out of his opinion, so I thought it out on the drive home.
Off a playoff season, with a QB in his second full season starting, the MVP in the backfield, a RDE who rocks in a contract year, three first-round picks and GREG JENNINGS, shoot, we better make the playoffs. Seriously, I have us going 11-and-5 and that's not from the heart it's from the head. We'll win our season opener at Detroit and have our best chance to win at Chicago the next week we have had since 2007 when MVP killed the Bears.
Yeah, I have no doubt we'll battle for the postseason all season and should make it. If we don't because CHRISTIAN isn't holding up his end of the bargain he will be replaced. The CORDARRELLE PATTERSON trick is going to be fresh. As mentioned #92Noon since we traded up to get him I envision the kid running some PERCY plays from the backfield and causing problems. Adrian will be his normal MVP self, Jennings will require a certain degree of respect and KYLE RUDOLPH will be even better than last year.
Defensively, I loved what I saw from CHRIS COOK during mini camp and am counting on him jumping up and having his best season as a pro. He needs to spalsh, and even if it doesn't come via interception he needs to force some fumbles like PEANUT and/or recover them. Chris Cook was a beast at MC and made the most lasting impression on me. He only allowed one catch day one and didn't slow down from there.
Rookie XAVIER RHODES will require patience but gives us a big-time physical guy to jam players at the line, and he covers the hell out of the pass. I am not sure how squared away he is in the running game but is big and strong enough to get off blocks.
We ran the table at the end of the year last year when we had to, and that was a bonding experience a young team needed to gain cohesiveness. These guys know they are good, and with MVP potentially hanging 200 game after game the passing game better be more explosive.
I called 10-and-6 lasy year and nailed it and i'll hit this one, too -- we finish 11-and-5 (pending injuries) and have a better chance to win the division this year than we did in 2012 when many had us running last. Add to the reasons listed our OL already is the best in the division and DESMOND BISHOP brings experience and helps tremendously with the LB group. HARRISON SMITH is a Pro Bowler in the making and almost made it last year with two picks for touchdowns.
Yeah, we are good and will not be one of those teams who made the postseason last year to miss it this year. Ain't happening.
