We celebrate the 1983 Wayzata Club Hockey Team and one of its stars, Jonny "The Mouse" Mikkelson, who once told me "Our team was so good the varsity wouldn't play us." When asked why he didn't play varsity Mouse said, "Too little." Cutest ever. So, we salute the greatest Club Hockey Team ever, a squad so vaunted even Jim Craig's Miracle team wanted nothing to do with it. Trottier, Bossy, Gretzky, Messier ... dead! Long live the 1983 Wayzata Club Hockey team!

f the Wild were Judge Charles H. Older, the judge that sent Charles Manson to the clink: “2 weeks in the workhouse and 1 month probation!”
RB WILLIS MCGAHEE has joined Cleveland following the TRENT RICHARDSON trade to Indy yesterday, and even though he passed a physical should be in no shape to scorch the Vikings and a defense that has allowed 463 total yards to running backs the last two games.
McGahee last was with Denver and missed the final two months last season with a significant knee injury. He was cut after they drafted MONTEE BALL. JARED ALLEN has four career safeties, tied for most in NFL history, and his first came when he caught Willis in the end zone.
I expect the Browns to execute a bunch of draws ands screens with third-string QB BRIAN HOYER at the helm, but Vikings insiders told me today he throws a nice deep ball and gets rid of it quickly. In three years as the third-stringer with New England Hoyer was 20-30 for 164 yards, zero TDs and a pick. He did run for a TD in 2009 during a 59-0 win against Tennessee.
Hoyer's only start came last year with Arizona and at San Francisco in week 17 -- he was 19-34-225-1-1. In the fourth preseason game this year and against the Bears Hoyer was 24-35-307-1-2. The kid supposedly can move a tad and will need to given the Browns have allowed 11 sacks through two games.
Here are some more Browns nuggets for the game-calling depth chart:
-- The Browns average eight PPG.
-- The Browns have scored one TD this year, a pass from BRANDON WEEDEN to TE JORDAN CAMERON. They have gone 5-for-29 on third down.
-- LT JOE THOMAS, the third overall pick in the 2007 draft, never has missed a snap, has started 98 consecutive games and is a six-time Pro Bowler.
-- C ALEX MACK, a first-rounder in 2009, never has missed a snap and has started 66 in a row.
-- Cameron leads all NFL TEs in receptions with 14 and collegiately played basketball at BYU and USC.
-- WR JOSH GORDON missed the first two games of the year due to suspension and last year as a rookie from Baylor had five TDs, averaging 16 YPC.
-- The Browns are 2-and-15 on the road since the start of the 2011 season.
-- Cleveland hasn't beaten Minnesota in 24 years and since Dec. 1989 at Cleveland and in OT.
-- Cleveland has been outscored 31-3 in the second halves of games this year.
-- Cleveland's rush defense is allowing two YPC and two TDs.
-- The Browns have six sacks, and DE DESMOND BRYANT has at least one-half sack in six consecutive games.
-- CB BUSTER SCRINE is one of the fastest players in the league and led the Browns at Baltimore with nine tackles.
-- OLB BARKEVIOUS MINGO, the sixth overall selection in the 2013 draft from LSU, sacked JOE FLACCO on the first snap of his career and, too, drew two holding penalties during the loss.
-- WR GREG LITTLE had four drops at Baltimore.
-- OLB JABAAL SHEARD is a converted DE and has 15 1/2 sacks the last two years.
-- OLB PAUL KRUGER, a UFA from Baltimore, has four TFLs this year. Last season with the champs he amassed nine sacks and had 4 1/2 in the postseason.
