Pete Bercich may be new to radio, but he is no stranger to Vikings Football. After playing for the University of Notre Dame, Bercich was selected in the 7th round by the Vikings 1994. He was a linebacker and a special teams standout from 1995-2000 and was a "on-field coach". His passion for football continued as a Vikings coach from 2002-2005, often times from the press box directly next to our KFAN broadcast booth at the Metrodome. Pete will move one door over beginning this fall and join Paul Allen and Greg Coleman bringing with him a new perspective on the Vikings Radio Network.
KFAN's Paul Allen returns to the broadcast booth for his sixth season as the play-by-play announcer for Minnesota Vikings radio broadcasts. Allen brings a flair for the dramatic to the Fan's broadcast booth. Allen served as the Vikings internet webcast play-by-play voice during the 2000 season and called one game during the 2001 season. A Washington D.C. native, Allen is currently the racetrack announcer at Canterbury Park in Shakopee, Minn., and lists tracks such as Bay Meadows Racecourse and Fonner Park Racetrack on his resume.
Greg Coleman also returns for his seventh season, joining Allen and Bercich from the sidelines and as a pre-game show host. Coleman, who spent 10 of his 12 NFL seasons with Minnesota, punted for the team from 1978-87. He is the teams' all-time leader in punts (721), punting yards (29,391), punts inside the 20 (154) and ranks 3rd in career average (40.8 yards per punt). His best season was 1983, when he set career-highs in punts (91) and yards (3,780) and averaged 41.5 yards per punt. Coleman attended Florida A&M University and was a 14th round pick by the Cincinnati Bengals in 1976.
