Prior to leaving Winter Park for personal time and vacations, Minnesota Vikings coaches announced today that, pending the state of the lock out, Minnesota Vikings players will be expected to report to training camp on July 31st.  Practices for the 2011 training camp will then start August 1st and will again be held on campus at Minnesota State Mankato.

Assuming the issues surrounding the NFL lock out will be resolved by then, training camp will go on just as it has in past years.

If the lock out has not been resolved, the Minnesota Vikings will inform Minnesota State Mankato by July 18th whether their plans to hold camp on campus have changed. Under these circumstances the most plausible option for recreating the training camp vibe will include housing the team in a metro hotel and holding practice at Winter Park.
