VIKINGS AND CLEAR CHANNEL SIGN TWO-YEAR EXTENSION
January 6, 2010

The Minnesota Vikings and Clear Channel have signed a two-year radio partnership extension, it was announced today. The agreement will extend the team’s relationship with Clear Channel to 11 consecutive seasons, dating back to 2001.

"Two more years together. I think it's absolutely the right thing to do," said Vikings Vice President of Sales and Marketing and Chief Marketing Officer Steve LaCroix, who joined Paul Allen in studio on Wednesday morning. "It's going to take us to 11 years straight here as our radio partner, and we're really excited about it.

"Our lease ends at the Metrodome after the 2011 season, so we wanted to kind of sync everything up, figure out where we're going to go the next two years as a business, and give us some time to continue the partnership but not look too far ahead."

Paul Allen will return as the radio play-by-play voice.

“We feel we have the best radio broadcast team in the NFL calling the action on game days and we look forward to expanding the Vikings brand across all Clear Channel stations," LaCroix said.

Within the extension, Clear Channel and KFAN will continue to serve as the radio home of Minnesota Vikings football. Clear Channel will air additional Vikings-related programming, including a year-round Vikings program on KFAN, and fans will also see an increased Vikings presence across all local Clear Channel stations and web sites.

“We are thrilled to announce the Vikings will remain at home on the FAN and K-Talk,” said Clear Channel President and Market Manager, Mike Crusham. “We think the Vikings are Minnesota’s most loved team, and we’re gratified they stayed on Minnesota’s favorite team of radio stations. This renewal also allows the Vikings and our group of Clear Channel radio stations to continue as great partners in our ongoing quest to be involved in community and public service in the Twin Cities and the region.”
