Mankato, MN - Adrian Peterson was noticeably absent from this afternoon's padded practice at Vikings Training Camp. Following practice, Leslie Frazier alerted the media as to why AP was not on the sidelines.
"[Adrian] had an allergic reaction to some seafood that he had at lunch," Frazier solemnly shared.
Frazier went on to say that Peterson was taken by emergency ambulance to a local hospital where he was diagnosed with the allergic reaction and later released to return to be with Vikings trainers back on campus.
"It was scary," Frazier said. "[Peterson had] shortness of breath swelling, the typical signs of someone who has an allergic reaction to food."
Frazier mentioned that AP was eating in the cafeteria with teammates when the incident occurred.
"I know he had mentioned that there was a time where he had an allergic reaction to something, maybe not quite as severe as this. I'm not sure if he knew when he was eating that food that it would create that reaction. He wouldn't have eaten it if he had known."
Peterson has since been cleared of the ailment and is expected to be back at practice tomorrow for rehab.
