Minneapolis, MN - As he does each and every Tuesday morning during the NFL season, Vikings quarterback Christian Ponder joined KFAN radio to close the book on the previous week and preview the upcoming opponent.

This week, joining Kevin Gorg who was filling in for Paul Allen, Ponder delivered a message of hope to recently distraught Vikings fans.

"Everything that we did wrong is easily fixable," Ponder told KFAN. "We just didn't play that well. We left a lot of plays on the field and a lot of yards as an offense on the field...It could have easily been a lot better."

Adding an extra practice to the schedule on Monday, the Vikings got back to basics and sured up some areas of concern that had surfaced the last few weeks.

"Our motto is that we're going to do the ordinary things extraordinary and do it better than everybody else," Ponder explained. "We're a very good team and as long as we perform like we should, and we can, we should have success on the field."

In looking at the upcoming schedule, Ponder noted the heavy NFC North weighted opponents that are on the plate for the Vikings. Playing divisional opponents is both good and bad for the Vikings as they will first hand be able to determine their status in the division. At the same time, the NFC North division is one of the more talented divisions in the NFL this year.

"We control our own destiny," Ponder added. "The good thing about where we're at right now is that all of our goals are still achievable...5-3 is still one of the best records in the NFL."

Ponder and Gorg went on to discuss Christian's childhood football idol and assessed the talent of the young influx of quarterbacks the league has seen over the past few years.
