Minneapolis, MN - In the "you don't say so" portion of today's news coming out of Winter Park, Vikings' DE Jared Allen was officially fined $21,000 for an illegal hit on Bears offensive lineman Lance Louis. Allen will not have to serve any sort of suspension for the hit.

While the specifics surrounding the illegality of the hit (viewable above) have not been released, it was likely the fact that Allen's feet left the ground, launching himself into a defenseless player that landed him the hefty fine. Unfortunately Louis' season was ended by the hit as he tore his ACL as a result.

The Vikings and Bears square off again next week at the Metrodome.
