Minneapolis, MN - Percy Harvin was not available to meet the media earlier in the morning but early Thursday afternoon the Minnesota Vikings releaseda brief statement on Percy's behalf.

"It certainly is disappointing that I was not able to finish out this season with my teammates," Harvin's statement reads. "As a competitor I definitely wanted to get back out on the field but my injury has just not allowed me to progress to the point where I can help our team."

"I appreciate the efforts of our medical staff and the support of our fans in helping me through this process and look forward to coming back stronger and better than ever."

Wednesday evening it was announced that Percy Harvin's season had ended as the Vikings placed the star wide receiver on the injured reserve list following an ankle injury on November 4th. On the year, Harvin has 62 receptions for 677 yards and 3 receiving touchdowns. In the return game, Harvin was averaging a league leading 35.9 yards per return and had already returned one kickoff for a score.
