Minneapolis, MN - The Minnesota Vikings were extremely active as the NFL's 2013 free agency period opened up yesterday afternoon. Here is a running tally of the latest Vikings news coming out of free agency.

- Vikings trade Percy Harvin to Seattle for draft picks...
It almost seems like old news by now, but on Monday the Vikings traded disgruntled wide receiver Percy Harvin to the Seattle Seahawks for a 1st and 7th round draft pick in the 2013 draft and a 3rd round pick in the 2014 draft.

- Phil Loadholt resigns multi-year contract with Vikings...
Just before free agency kicked off at 3pm, the Vikings and RT Phil Loadholt agreed to terms on a new deal that will keep Phil in Minnesota for multiple years. Spielman would not confirm details of the new contract but reports surfaced Tuesday night that the terms of Loadholt's deal are in the neighborhood of 4-years and $25 million, with $7 million guaranteed. If accurate, the deal makes Loadholt one of the highest paid right tackles in the league.

- Vikings release CB Antoine Winfield...
It caught everybody by surprise yesterday and will likely remain as the biggest surprise in this year's Vikings free agency period, but yesterday afternoon the Vikings released CB Antoine Winfield. Winfield, who has spent the past nine years with the Vikings, stood to make $7.25M in 2013. While the Vikings say they are hoping to keep the door open for Winfield to return to the team under new terms, news came out late Tuesday that the situation was no necessarily handled the best way and Winfield may in fact have little interest to return to the Vikings.

- T Joe Berger agrees to one year deal...
Versatile offensive lineman Joe Berger agreed to a minimum salary deal for one-year with the Minnesota Vikings.

- WR Jerome Simpson agrees to one-year deal with Vikings...
While Rick Spielman did not want to comment on the matter "until we have signatures" but reports are saying that the Vikings have agreed to a one-year deal with Simpson that will allow the inconsistent WR one more shot in Minnesota.

Simpson's 2012 season was derailed early with the three game suspension followed by a leg injury that never allowed him to let loose.

- TE John Carlson restructures deal with Minnesota Vikings...
Again, Spielman did not want to comment on the details, or confirm for that matter, but sources are saying that John Carlson agreed to restructure the final year of his big two year free agent contract he signed before last season. Reportedly, the new Carlson deal drops his base salary from $2.9M to $1.5M clearing $1.45M on the cap for 2013.

- S Jamarca Sanford agrees to two-year deal with Vikings...
After a breakout season in 2012, Jamarca Sanford opted to continue offering his services to the Minnesota Vikings. Details of the detail have yet to be disclosed but it sounds like Sanford will remain a Viking for the next two seasons.

- FB Jerome Felton turns AP's big year into three-year deal with Vikings...
While Adrian Peterson made the cuts and carried the ball, fullback Jerome Felton cleared the way for AP's historic year and late Tuesday afternoon, he turned that success into a new three-year contract. With total compensation nearing $7.5M, Felton turned what was once a journey-man career into a big, well deserved, pay day with the Vikings.

- LB Erin Henderson inks a two-year deal to stay with the Vikings...
With holes to fill in the linebacking corps, the Vikings re-upped with 26 year old linebacker Erin Henderson. No dollar amount has been released yet, but word is Henderson will land in Minnesota for two more years.
