Jason Zucker got called for a hooking to open up play in the second period, but the Wild’s penalty kill has been perfect in the last 5 games, a streak that would continue during the Zucker man-down.
Before the end of the period, Suter took a big slap shot which caromed off of the end boards and found the tape of Jason Pominville who swiftly tucked it in the net past the Flames’ MacDonald. It was the third goal Pominville has scored for the Wild since coming to Minnesota in the blockbuster trade from Buffalo earlier in April.
The second wound down as Charlie Coyle drew blood and a four minute Wild power play after enduring a stick to the teeth to give Minnesota more than two minutes of man-advantage action to start the third frame.
The young speedster Jason Zucker had the best scoring chance during the power play to open up the third period, but Calgary was able to keep the score just 2-0 as the Flames regained full-strength after killing off the four minute penalty.
The Wild’s fourth line allowed Jiri Hudler to break free and bury a goal past Backstrom. Leading 2-1, Bouchard answered :11 seconds later wristing a puck past MacDonald to instantly give the Wild their two goal lead back at 3-1. Bouchard's quick answer opened up the floodgates for
