Minneapolis, MN - Yesterday it was Antoine Winfield, today the newest former Viking to be cut by their new team appears to be former punter Chris Kluwe.
Kluwe, who spent the first eight seasons of his NFL career with the Vikings, was cut by Minnesota earlier this offseason. Today Kluwe tweeted a combined thank you/goodbye message to the Oakland Raiders and his fans.
Thanks to everyone at the Raiders for the opportunity this preseason. It was a blast. @MarquetteKing's got a bright future with you guys!— Chris Kluwe (@ChrisWarcraft) September 1, 2013
Feel like we both had a pretty strong preseason. No regrets.— Chris Kluwe (@ChrisWarcraft) September 1, 2013
Thank you to everyone for the well wishes. We'll see what the next couple of days bring. Other than more dead PoE characters. #reeeeeeeeeeep— Chris Kluwe (@ChrisWarcraft) September 1, 2013
Despite the slow acclimation that we've seen from Jeff Locke here in Minnesota, it appears as if Kluwe's ship has sailed from the Vikings organization making a reunion with the Vikings very unlikely.
